In the present study, fourth-order compactformulation has been improved for Navier-Stokes (N-S) equations, which isexpressed for two-dimensional, steady, incompressible flow problems.N-Sequation system has been expressed with Stream Function-Vorticity Approachusing Finite Difference Method (FDM) from the numerical methods. In order to test BORON the functionality andapplicability of the improved numerical formulation, a sample for submergedbluff bodies, flow problem around cylinder with square cross-section was chosenas a benchmark problem. As a result of applying improved numerical formulationwith Gauss-Seidel Relaxation Method was used for this benchmark problem. The benchmark problem was also solvedwith second-order accuracy and obtained numerical results were compared withfourth-order accuracy 7 Piece Queen Poster Bedroom numerical results.
With the same Reynolds Number and thesame free-stream velocity values, fourth-order numerical results are moreconvergent than second-order numerical results.Furthermore, in the flow fieldfor considered benchmark problem, separation bubble length that consisted inthe wake region is increased proportionally depending on the alteration of theReynolds Number values.
